FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS ABOUT OUR NATURAL SHELLED HAZELNUTS
Although we are strong advocates of organic, we must acknowledge that each year is different... This season, our harvests are significantly down and unfortunately we will not have enough organic hazelnuts to satisfy everyone 🙂. Fortunately, our unlabelled orchards - managed sustainably - come to the rescue: they allow us to continue offering you the same hazelnut, with its unique and irresistibly crunchy taste!
And rest assured: we are already putting all our energy into the next season to offer you as many organic hazelnuts as possible for the 2026 harvest. 🌱
Freshness is essential for the raw hazelnuts! Our hazelnuts are vacuum packed to preserve their taste and crunch for up to 8 months before opening.
Once the packet is opened, store them in an airtight container, away from light, heat, and moisture.
Avoid the refrigerator as it is humid :-)
No, hazelnuts are naturally gluten-free. They are therefore perfectly suitable for people who are intolerant or sensitive to gluten.
Thenatural shelled hazelnutsare the most versatile. They are recommended for:
- snacking: A healthy snack for satiety.
- cooking: Used in raw food recipes, mueslis, or to make homemade hazelnut milk.
- They are the ideal base to roast yourself at home (to adjust the roasting to your taste) or to blend to make a spread.
ORIGIN OF OUR FRENCH HAZELNUTS
Located in Lot-et-Garonne, our hazelnut orchards are a great source of pride for us.
Managing our orchards in Organic or sustainable agriculture requires a great deal of resilience and a lot of patience. This year, the organic hazelnut harvest is significantly below our expectations. That is why we are offering you hazelnuts from our non-labelled orchards, but managed in a sustainable way!
It is thanks to sustainable practices (crop diversification, tall grasses, cover crops, grazing sheep and chickens,…) that we are now able to restore the ecosystem and protect (part of) our harvests.
The hazelnut we are offering you issmall in size, crunchy and with a pronounced hazelnut flavour.
Our hazelnuts can be enjoyed raw, roasted for the more indulgent, or transformed into spread.

A MILLENNIAL HERITAGE: THE HAZELNUT IN FRENCH HISTORY
Did you know that the hazelnut, fruit of the hazel tree (Corylus avellana), has one of the richest histories in our cultures?
Present in Europe for over9000 years(long before almonds or walnuts), it was already consumed by prehistoric man. In France, particularly in the South-West, its cultivation has been encouraged since antiquity. Often associated with wisdom and fertility, the hazelnut is today a pillar of French indulgence, essential for making our pralines and artisan spreads.
