THE RARITY: WHY FRENCH DRIED GRAPES ARE EXCEPTIONAL
While most dried grapes on the French market come from warm countries (such as Turkey, the USA, South Africa), it is because French production faces two major challenges.
- Firstly, the climate in the South-West is more temperate, which does not allow grapes to be dried solely by the sun. It therefore requires a longer and more technical drying process.
- Secondly, harvesting, de-stemming and manual sorting are labour-intensive tasks., which significantly increases the production cost.
That is why we can say that our raisins are a rare product and incomparable to those on the market.
Finally, it will be necessary to hurry to taste them. Due to our limited artisanal production, unfortunately, there will not be enough for everyone this year. ;-)
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS ABOUT OUR EXTRA SOFT RAISINS
The main difference lies in thetexture and intensity of flavour. Extra soft raisins are even more tender and juicy than soft raisins, with a flesh that can be distinguished when tasting, often close to the flavour of roasted or caramelised grapes. Soft raisins remain sweet and pliable, but less melting.
One should certainly taste both to form their own opinion ;-)
After opening, store the extra soft raisins in a hermetically sealed container in the refrigerator: they will remain soft and tasty for 2 to 3 weeks.
For longer storage, you can also freeze them without altering their taste or texture.
Absolutely! Extra soft raisins bring sweetness and indulgence to your sweet recipes such as cakes, tarts, muffins or compotes, and they also pair perfectly with savoury dishes like tagines, salads or stews. Their melting texture and caramelised flavour make them a versatile and tasty ingredient.
